Laser Tek Coagulator with Spectra-Physics 168-67 3W Argon Laser

The manuals for this laser are now available on my Laser Manuals page

Introduction:
This is a LaserTek Model 41A Laser Coagulator (Photocoagulator), essentially a Spectra-Physics model 168 OEM laser built into a cool little desk. I got a good deal on this laser through E-Bay and drove over to Connecticut to pick it up. I bought it from the original owner, an optometrist, who said this thing had always been a reliable instrument. He showed me some operation tips and as a bonus I got all of the manuals and accessories along with it.

Here are some pictures of the laser itself (click to enlarge):

Laser Specs:
For an overview of the specs here is what appears to be an original product advertisement from another website. My laser is actually labeled as a 41AK, but it was converted to a model 41A when it was purchased in 1983. It still has the folding mirror and combining optics but unfortunately no krypton head.

7/4/06 - Update
I got the laser up and running this weekend - I didn't want to push my 240V 30A breaker so I ran it at a conservative 400mW. This was certainly enough power to put out a nice visible beam and start burning things... The output fiber coupler needs re-alignment so I bypassed it with a mirror placed at the laser output. The last picture shows the converter that I used to generate 208V 3-phase from 240V. More details can be found on my Phase Converter page.
